Foundations of Sharp HealthCare

COVID-19 Fund

The Foundations of Sharp HealthCare have established the Sharp COVID-19 Fund, which will receive donations to each of our Foundations and make emergency grants and distributions to Sharp departments and hospitals that are on the frontlines of responding to our nation's most serious health crisis.

Please choose a Foundation below to make your gift:

  • Coronado Hospital Foundation enhances the current and future health care needs of Coronado residents, visitors and the surrounding community through support of programs, services and equipment at Sharp Coronado Hospital.

  • Grossmont Hospital Foundation enhances the current and future health care needs of the East County and San Diego communities through support of patient care, health education, clinical research and major capital projects at Sharp Grossmont Hospital and Sharp HospiceCare.

  • Sharp HealthCare Foundation enhances the current and future health care needs of San Diegans through support of critical medical services, clinical research and health education at Sharp Chula Vista Medical Center, Sharp Mary Birch Hospital for Women & Newborns, Sharp McDonald Center, Sharp Memorial Hospital, Sharp Mesa Vista Hospital and Sharp Rees-Stealy Medical Centers.

The Sharp COVID-19 Fund, under the direction of the Sharp Highly Infectious Disease Committee (HID), will make grants to Sharp departments and entities for medical equipment and supplies, including Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), ventilators, tents, as well as training and other professional resources to support the direct care of both COVID-19 patients as well as others in our community.

Sharp HealthCare created the HID Committee during the 2014 EBOLA outbreak to ensure Sharp's readiness to care for any potential patients who presented to our health system. Recently, that committee was reactived to address the COVID-19 epidemic. The committee is comprised of a team of experts from throughout the heath care system. Members of the Sharp HID Committee are in constant contact with local, state, and national health officials and are continually monitoring information and guidance provided by the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to help inform Sharp's response to COVID-19.

We know these are challenging times for our community and nation, and we are thankful for the dedication of Sharp team members to continue delivering the very best care to our patients, supporting their families and being there for each other in the face of adversity.
