Giving Opportunities at Sharp Grossmont Hospital
David and Donna Long Center for Cancer Treatment
The David and Donna Long Center for Cancer Treatment offers San Diego cancer patients the latest cancer-fighting technologies and investigation therapies. In 2005, a tomotherapy treatment program was established at Sharp Grossmont Hospital's Center for Cancer Treatment. Tomotherapy is a novel approach to radiation therapy that has evolved from the convergence of research from several fields. The excitement of tomotherapy stems from its potential to escalate doses of radiation to unprecedented levels, without increasing toxicity to patients. Your designated gift will help us continue to bring superior cancer treatment to patients throughout San Diego County.
Heart & Vascular Center
A new state-of-the-art heart and vascular center — constructed within phases from 2013 to 2015 — will enhance the standard of excellence at Sharp Grossmont Hospital by enhancing cardiac and vascular diagnosis, treatment and technology to the community. At a total cost of $136 million, this 65,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art facility will be developed on three floors to include three cardiac catheterization labs, multipurpose operating rooms, expanded pharmacy and lab areas and more. The center will offer a variety of diagnostic tests, treatments, services and surgeries to benefit patients with congestive heart failure, coronary artery disease, atrial fibrillation (abnormal heart rhythm) and more. This will create one of San Diego's most advanced clinical environments, providing leading-edge care with lifesaving answers.
The mission of Sharp Grossmont Hospital's Scholarship Program for Nurses is to improve the health of area residents by enhancing nursing excellence through education. The program eases financial burden by providing scholarships to deserving nurses who want to further their nursing careers through the pursuit of advanced degrees, and attracts and retains a diverse and outstanding nursing staff at the hospital. Your designated gift will help to provide scholarships for the many deserving and committed licensed nursing professionals at Sharp Grossmont Hospital.
