Paul Abou, MD

Dr. Paul Abou is the Chief of Staff practicing internal medicine at Sharp Grossmont Hospital. He received his medical degree from the University of Al-Mustansiriyah College of Medicine and has been in practice for more than 20 years.






Dee Marie Ammon
Dee Marie Ammon

Dee Marie Ammon's extensive volunteer work has benefited San Diego organizations including Friends of Vista Hill and Nice Guys, a charity organization her husband founded. She has also served on multiple committees at various organizations over the years, including the Grossmont Hospital Foundation Gala committee. Dee Marie was born in Guam and received her education at the university there. She and her husband, Jon, have four children and live in Alpine.



Renae Arabo
Renae Arabo

Renae Arabo graduated from the University of San Diego and has been passionate about promoting business and helping as many people as she can in East County for over forty years. Renae currently serves as the Chief of Marketing, including Public Relations and Community Outreach, for RJS Law. Her many accolades include 2017 Women Who Impact San Diego Winner and 2017 San Diego’s Top Marketing Executive from San Diego Metro Magazine. Renae, her husband, and their three children live in El Cajon.

Daniel Atteberry is a La Mesa resident and has been active in volunteering in his community. Currently, Daniel is the President of Sharp Grossmont Hospital's Auxillary Service Board.  



Kathy Bongiovanni
Kathy Bongiovanni

Kathy was born in Michigan but raised in California. She and her husband own Seal Electric, a family-owned electrical contractor located in El Cajon. Kathy served as co-chair for the 2018 Regatta benefiting Sharp HospiceCare and will co-chair again in 2019. Kathy and her husband love to travel and have three children and one grandson.




Connie ConardConnie Conard

Connie Conard first started at Grossmont Hospital as a candy striper and has continued supporting the hospital ever since.  Connie is a native San Diegan and an active community volunteer involved with a number of organizations: board member for the East County YMCA, board member for Vista Hill, member of the Angels of Aseltine, the Salvation Army Women’s Auxiliary, the GOLD Diggers and the Grossmont Hospital Foundation gala committee. Connie has received many honors and recognitions including the 2013 HealthCare District Hero award and the 2015 State of California Woman of the Year award.  Connie lives in El Cajon with her husband Phil Conard.  They have four grown children and three grandchildren.

James Elia, DOJames Elia

Dr. James Elia was born in Iraq and migrated to San Diego in 1982 He graduated from UCSD in 1998 with a Bachelor of Science, graduated from Western University of Health Sciences in 2005, and completed a residency in Emergency Medicine at Arrowhead Regional Medical Center in 2009. Dr. Elia returned to East San Diego County in 2009 where he lives and works to serve the community. Dr. Elia is currently the Assistant Medical Director and Chair at the Sharp Grossmont Emergency Department. His hobbies include Jiujitsu, outdoor sports, and playing the drums. Dr. Elia is married with three children and hopes to continue to be active and contribute to the East County Community.

Scott EvansScott Evans, Pharm D, MHA

Scott Evans is the senior vice president and CEO of Sharp Grossmont Hospital, and also oversees Sharp’s pharmacy services across the system. Prior to joining Sharp, Scott served as the chief executive officer of Keck Hospital of USC and USC Norris Cancer Hospital. Prior to that appointment, he was chief operating officer for the two university-owned hospitals, a position he held since 2007. He also held an appointment as associate dean for academic medical center programs in the USC School of Pharmacy. Evans began his career in health care in 1989 as a pharmacy technician. After becoming a pharmacist, and subsequently a director of pharmacy, Evans accepted a position in hospital administration in Los Angeles overseeing pharmacy, laboratory services, radiology, quality, infection prevention, and risk management before becoming COO. Evans obtained his doctor of pharmacy degree at the USC School of Pharmacy with postgraduate residency training at the Department of Veterans Affairs and the USC School of Pharmacy. He also holds a master of health administration from the USC Sol Price School of Public Policy, and a doctorate in education with an emphasis in organizational leadership from Pepperdine University.
 
 

Teri FeatheringillTeri Featheringill

Teri Featheringill is a San Diego native, born at Sharp Memorial Hospital and who has spent most of her life in La Mesa, graduating from Helix High School. Ms. Featheringill is the owner of Featheringill Mortuary and Southern California Crematory. Her company is a 58-year-old family owned business; with her sons being the fourth generation now working in the business. Ms. Featheringill is a member of the La Mesa Lions Club for over 30 years. She served on the Foundation Board in 2003 through 2010 and is excited to be back and be a part of the wonderful work Grossmont Hospital Foundation does for Sharp Grossmont Hospital and Sharp HospiceCare. Ms. Featheringill loves gardening, traveling, and spending time with her grandchildren.

 

John Fonseca

John Carlos Fonseca was born in Mexico City, Mexico. He is the owner and CEO of the Fonseca Design Shop that has operated in La Mesa since 2002. Mr. Fonseca graduated from UCLA with a degree in International Economics-emphasis in Latin America. Mr. Fonseca currently serves as the President of the La Mesa Parks and Recreation Foundation, as well as being an Advisor to the San Diego Sporting Soccer Club (non-profit) and member of the Grossmont Hospital Foundation Golf Committee in 2014 and 2015. His hobbies include soccer, tennis, golf, and surfing. Mr. Fonseca believes in the importance of instilling a sense of community involvement, civic responsibility, and stewardship in his two sons. Participating on the Board of Governors would be a fitting way to achieve this while, at the same time, giving back to his community. He lives in La Mesa.



Kristy Gregg
Kristy Gregg

Kristy Gregg is a third-generation native San Diegan who learned at an early age that she could be an active participant in her community through her professional career and as a volunteer. Being part of developing the Community Dev/Affairs Departments at San Diego National Bank and then U.S. Bank, made the ideal situation for her to combine her passion for making a difference. She currently serves on the boards of The Children's Initiative, Just in Time for Foster Youth, SD Nice Guys, and Star Pal. Prior to retirement in 2014, she had served on more than a dozen boards and a host of committees over a 30-year span. Kristy lives in La Mesa with her husband, Steve, and enjoys gardening, hiking, and golfing. Together they have five children and three grandchildren.

Danny Hambrick attended college and resides in San Diego, California. He is the President of ProSource Insurance Services Inc. and has been recognized in Entrepreneur Magazine as well as the San Diego Business Journal as one of the top growing insurance agencies in California. From the experience and education he has acquired in business, he has been very successful. He enjoys helping others grow and build their careers and become successful in the insurance and financial industries. Danny Hambrick also enjoys spending time with his wife and three children, exercising outdoors, and has a passion for playing music.




Fabienne Hanks
Fabienne Hanks

Originally from Cape Girardeau, Missouri, Fabienne is the owner of Hanks and Associates and is now retired after a 40-year career in corporate special events. Fabienne served as a candy striper in the mid-'60s and became involved again years later as the chair of the Laurel Amtower Cancer Institute and campaign after having been diagnosed with a brain tumor. Her tumor was successfully removed and she was inspired to give back, sharing her story at multiple events. Fabienne enjoys CrossFit, floral design, and travel. She and her husband, Terry, live in La Mesa and have three children. She has been recognized with the YMCA Gold Triangle, Red Triangle Family Business Award, and ADME Lifetime Achievement Award.



Byron JohnstonByron Johnston

Byron Johnston was born and raised in San Diego. He attended Saint Augustine High School and graduated from Saint Mary’s College with a bachelor’s degree in English in 1995. Mr. Johnston began working at Teague Insurance Agency in 1999 and started building his book of business. In 2011, he became president and helped the company become one of the largest privately-held Independent Insurance Agencies in the San Diego Region today. Mr. Johnston is a member of the San Diego County Board of the Boy Scouts and is with a group called United Through Reading. In his free time, he enjoys fitness, soccer, and golf. His three children, Aidan, Samira, and Lyla keep him and his wife busy with their sports and activities.


Ken JustoKen Justo

Ken Justo was born and raised in Chicago’s Southside. He graduated top of his class from Coyne American Institute in Chicago with a degree in HVAC-R. He has completed a number of business and marketing certificate programs over the years. Mr. Justo has lived in San Diego since 1977. Mr. Justo is co-owner of ASI “The White Glove Guys” for over 40 years. He is the Vice President of Sales and Marketing responsible for high-level business, marketing, and sales strategy. His company has grown from two to over 200 team members. Mr. Justo has been a patient and his parents were cared for in their declining years at Sharp Grossmont Hospital. His family and company have been donating to Sharp Grossmont Hospital and Sharp HospiceCare for 20 years. Mr. Justo has served on the YMCA Board for over 20 years. His hobbies are waterskiing and table tennis. He has been married to his wife, Tracy for 35 years and has two daughters.


Howard Levenson
Howard Levenson

Howard B. Levenson is a native Californian and a resident of the San Diego area for over 70 years.  In 1976 he became the Chairman and Chief Executive officer of Western Financial Corporation. Howard has served as a member of the Board of Directors for several publicly held companies and is a recognized expert within the independent banking industry.  Most recently, Mr. Levenson was the organizer, founding Director and Chairman of Vibra Bank in Chula Vista. He is a past Chairman of the Board of Governors of the Grossmont Hospital Foundation and a past President of the University Club in San Diego. The Levenson’s have one son, Richard S. Levenson (a past director of the Grossmont Hospital Foundation), one daughter, Mindy Fullerton, and five grandsons. Howard is retired and lives in El Cajon and Julian with his wife, Virginia. 
Corinne Marteeny

Corinne Marteeny graduated from USD and resides in El Cajon and is the Owner/Managing Member of Marteeny Management Co, LLC. Corinne’s mother, Elaine Marteeny served on the Foundation Board of Governors for ten years. She is single with two children, Cameron, and Carson Odabashian. She has been involved with the Singing Hills Little League and Mission Valley Planning Committee and is active in her church. Corinne enjoys walking, reading, and spending time with family and friends.



 

Elizabeth Morgante

Elizabeth Morgante has served as the executive director for Grossmont Hospital Foundation since 1994. She is a certified fundraising professional and the former president of the San Diego Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals. Beth also serves on the board of the La Mesa Lions Club and is active in the La Mesa Boy Scouts and various community sports leagues. 



 

Scott Musicant, M.D.
Scott Musicant MD

Dr. Musicant is a Sharp-affiliated Vascular Surgeon at Grossmont Hospital.  For the past six years, his leadership role of fundraising for the Grossmont Hospital Foundation’s Golf Tournament has raised more than $2.2 million dollars. Dr. Musicant has also personally supported the Foundation as a Golf Tournament underwriting sponsor and a Gala Notable Sponsor. Dr. Musicant graduated with his Medical Degree from UCLA in 1998. Prior to that, he attended Grossmont College and Mills College earning a BA in 1990. Dr. Musicant’s hobbies include biking and skiing. He and his wife Carrie, along with their two sons, live in La Mesa.


Phil Pailey, M.D.Phil Pailey, MD

A retired physician with thirty-two years of service at Sharp Grossmont Hospital, Dr. Pailey was attracted to Sharp Grossmont because of the Medical Staff membership and his continued interest in East County health issues. Dr. Pailey graduated from Marquette University, The Medical College of Wisconsin. In 2004, he was recognized as San Diego Magazine's Top Doctor. He and his wife have three children.


Rocky QualinRocky Qualin

Rocky attended SDSU and holds a B.S. in Finance. He has been the Senior Vice President of McGriff Insurance Services in San Diego, California for 7 years. He sponsors the Sharp HospiceCare Regatta. Rocky is a member of the Lions Club Downtown, MCAC, and is on the board of the AGC Foundation: Lions Camp Jack. He is also active with local campaigns, ran for the Santee City Council in 2010, and was awarded the AGC Affiliate of the Year in 2012. His hobbies include surfing, paddle boarding, and coaching baseball. Rocky Qualin lives in Santee with his wife, Jennifer, and his two children, Allie and Noah.
 

Sherri SummersSherri Summers

Sherri Summers is a native San Diegan born at Sharp Memorial Hospital.  Sherri came to Grossmont Hospital Foundation through her involvement on the Sharp HospiceCare Regatta Committee. She is CEO and co-owner with husband Jim of EC Constructors, Inc., operating in East County since 2005. In 2016, EC Constructors, Inc. was named 38th District nominee for small business of the year. Thereafter, Jim and Sherri were awarded the Harry J. Spence Lakeside Citizen of the Year Award due in large part for their contribution and construction of the Cedar Fire Memorial. Sherri and Jim live in Alpine and have two adult children.

Maggie WatkinsMaggie Watkins

Maggie Watkins is the Senior Client Services Director at Womble Bond Dickinson. With more than 20 years of professional services marketing expertise, Watkins is highly regarded as a marketing thought leader whose strategic and innovative approaches garner exceptional results. She is known as an upbeat, energetic, and polished communicator and leader, with a collaborative style. Her passion is customer service, having developed one of the legal industries' first client feedback programs. She has implemented this program in all firms/companies where she has worked, using it to spot service issues, amplify the voice of the customer, and identify cross-selling opportunities. Additionally, she enjoys training and coaching the professionals to help them develop new business and achieve their business strategic goals. She is also very active in the communities in which she works, having served on over 30 not-for-profit boards, including Susan G. Komen, Alzheimer’s Association, (chapter chair), Girl Scouts of the USA, Project Concern International, and Leadership California, to name a few.

Kate WayneKate Wayne

Kate Wayne is the Director of Grossmont Hospital Foundation with responsibility for the direction and leadership of the philanthropic program at Sharp Grossmont Hospital and Sharp HospiceCare including Board management, budgeting and finance, strategic planning, and staff supervision. Kate is a member of the SGH executive team and serves in an administrative leadership role. Kate started her career at Sharp HealthCare in 2007 at Sharp HealthCare Foundation.  After seven years working in various events and annual giving roles at Sharp Chula Vista Medical Center, Kate left to work in Major Gifts for the University of California San Diego Health Science Advancement. Kate joined the Grossmont team in March 2017. Kate has a Master of Arts degree in Philanthropic Studies from the Indiana University Lilly Family School of Philanthropy and went to the University of Dayton for her undergraduate degree.  Kate and her husband Bryan live in La Mesa, have two daughters named Lily and Avery.
