Inspired Giving: The Stichler Family Story
Todd and Stephanie Stichler were joyfully awaiting the birth of twins when the unexpected happened.
Todd’s memory of that day in 2001 will always be vivid: “The girls were born prematurely at Sharp Mary Birch Hospital. I watched as doctors and nurses resuscitated our lifeless babies.”
The three-pound infants were rushed to the hospital’s nationally respected Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), where they were cared for during a two-month stay. As their daughters, Ella and Cameryn, grew strong and healthy over the years, Todd and Stephanie looked for a way to show their gratitude for the skill and compassion of the caregivers at Sharp Mary Birch.
“Our dramatic and emotional days in the NICU supported the idea that people like us could help others through this difficult time.” It was a gift from the Stichlers that helped fund the hospital’s NICU Navigator Program, and experienced parents now give hope and emotional support to those whose fragile newborns require long periods of intensive care.
